Horizon Arts Camp Fundraiser at The Revue
WHAT: Screening of Steven Spielberg’s 1985 classic, The Goonies!
WHEN: Sunday November 20 at 4:00 p.m. Doors open at 3:45 p.m.
TICKETS: $15 in advance or $20 at the door. All 2011 H.A.C. summer campers will receive a discount on their ticket. Tickets at the door can only be purchased with cash. Debit and credit are not yet available.
OTHER INFO: Horizon Arts Camp will be selling baked good as snacks for the movie or to take home! 50/50 tickets will also be available for purchase. Cash only.
ABOUT HORIZON ARTS CAMP: Horizon Arts Camp (H.A.C.) is a registered charity that provides enriching camp experiences to children and youth through professional programming in the performing and visual arts with a balance of traditional camp activities and leadership development. In addition to summer camp, H.A.C. offers Arts Workshops, Overnight Trips to sleep away camps, and March Break Camps!
As part of our organization’s mandate, Horizon Arts Camp offers a significant Subsidy Program for children and youth to attend year-round programs and Summer Camp at reduced fees. Our goal is to provide subsidies to children from low-income families who have a talent and/or strong interest in the arts but do not have the financial means to nurture their abilities.
Subsidies range from 10%-100% of the camp fee and are based on families’ income, expenses, number of people in the household, and any extenuating circumstances. The cost for one camper to attend one 3-week camp session is $1600. This past summer, 95% of our campers received a subsidy to help with the cost of their camp fees. 49% of our campers received subsidies that covered 85-100% of their camp fee. Horizon Arts Camp is only able to provide subsidies if the money is raised through fundraisers, like H.A.C. GOES TO THE MOVIES!
All proceeds from this event will go directly to our Sponsor-A-Camper Campaign, which supports our Subsidy Program. Help send deserving and talented children to camp!
