The Holiday Revue: Free Screenings

Enjoy three family favorites, pick up some gifts

by Staff

Home Alone-still

Get in a holiday mood with three free screenings of holiday classics at The Revue.

Many thanks to the Roncesvalles Village BIA for sponsoring two screenings of family favorites as an early Christmas gift to the neighbourhood.

*Home Alone, Saturday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m.

This  charming black comedy for kids brought child actor  Macaulay Culkin to international attention. Every kid’s fantasy of holding the family fort alone: Mega sundaes, trampoline beds, and some ingenious boobytraps. Also starring John Candy and Joe Pesci.

A Christmas Story-still

 *A Christmas Story, Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m.

Based on a comic memoir by a former radio host Jean Shepherd about growing up in the 1940s, this well received venture into seasonal nostalgia  is well laced with some very funny scenes, like the assembly-line Santa.  Directed by Bob Clark (Black Christmas, Porky’s, Murder by Decree).

elf-still

*Elf, Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m.

The Revue would also like to thank you for your support and patronage.  Come and enjoy another free screening of this holiday favorite, starring Will Ferrell as the oversized, adopted Elf who just doesn’t fit in Santa’s workshop. Directed by Jon Favreau.

Revue Gift Packs

While you’re enjoying  the free flicks at the cinema, why not do some Christmas shopping. Pick up some gift packs  from your 99-year-old neighbourhood cinema.

For your convenience, The Revue now accepts debit.

All the best for the holiday season from The Revue staff and volunteers.
