Mars Needs Moms is a computer animated Disney film that is full of social commentary. Directed by H.G. Wells' grandson, Simon, and starring Joan Cusack (Mom) and Seth Green (Milo), the mom is abducted by Martians to be a nanny to their children. After a typical fight over eating broccoli, Milo is sent to his room, and when he goes to apologize, witnesses his mom being taken away in a spacecraft. Jumping on another ship, he travels to rescue his mom from an uncertain fate. While there, he meets some humans to help him, and much action ensues. What it says about parenting styles and nanny culture is up to us to discern. It may help your children to appreciate you more!
