The Revue Film Society is pleased to announce the hiring of Tim Bourgette as general manager of the Revue Cinema.

A local resident who lives within steps of the theatre, Tim has an encyclopedic knowledge of the repertory cinema business as a result of his ten years experience with the Festival Cinema chain, including the Revue.

He worked in a variety of roles at the Paradise, Kingsway and Revue theatres, moving into a management position at the Royal for two years before being appointed senior manager of the Festival Cinema chain from 2004-2006. He has also run his own music store and works as a consultant for start-up businesses.

With such extensive experience, Tim has an intimate knowledge of what needs to be done to ensure the Revue's success. He also shares a great love of film and a passion for independent cinema.

"I'm really honoured and excited to be involved," said Bourgette. "There has been such tremendous support from the neighbourhood."

"We hope the reopening of the Revue will create a model for how communities can save institutions like their local theatres," he added.
