The Epicure’s Revue Schedule to December

Coming up for your viewing and tasting pleasure
Get your palate prepared. The Epicure’s Revue has some intriguing films and tasting opportunities lined up for the rest of the year.
For October: Sideways, is screening Wednesday, October 20, from 6:45 p.m. followed by tasting of Pinot Noir and the much maligned (in the film) Merlot at Lardon Restaurant. At these tastings, general manager, sommelier and George Brown prof Doris Bradley and chef Jacky Lo carefully pair the wines with tapas. This gives the tasters a chance to experience just how the flavour and character of wine changes when it’s sampled with food. Some of the pairings are totally unexpected but delicious—like the homemade pretzel with mustard paired with a G Silvaner wine from Germany at our last event.
For November: Julie & Julia comes to The Revue, on Wednesday, November 17. Both Lardon and Blue Plate will be offering Julia Child-inspired menus. Lardon will continue offering the wine tastings, pairing wines with tapas ($25); Blue Plate chef Julia (how appropriate!) Young will prepare a three-course meal with two Julia Child choices per course ($30).
For December: On Wednesday, Decembert 15, we’ll be screening Chocolat and we’ll be adding one of the latest newcomers to Roncesvalles, The Chocolateria, to our Epicure Revue participants. A great opportunity to finish your Christmas shopping and work out what you’ll be serving as food and drink over the holiday season.
Stay tuned for details. Advance tickets will be available Tuesday, October 12 for the Sideways screening on October 20 and the tasting following at Lardon. Purchase your tickets for November and December at the Revue starting October 20 and at participating restaurants.
Advance tickets to the films, to put you in the mood, are just $7.
