The Revue is proud to host a fundraising screening presented by True North Insight of the Documentary film The Buddha directed by David Grubin. Narrated by Richard Gere, the film is an informative and entertaining presentation of the life and teachings of the Buddha. The screening of the PBS film The Buddha is the first Toronto-based fundraising and awareness raising event in Toronto for True North Insight -- anon-profit, charitable organization presently organizing, promoting and managing insight meditation retreats in English and French. Insight meditation practices are dedicated to cultivating more awareness, kindness and compassion, and bringing more mindfulness and calm into our daily life. Insight meditation retreats provide an opportunity for focused and supported meditation practice, contemplation and transformation.
True North was first envisioned in 2003 and has grown into a dedicated service organization offering 8 residential retreats both in English and French in 2008. They offer residential and non-residential one to eight day retreats at beautiful locations near Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. A weekly sitting group in Montreal and Toronto also supports people in sustaining their practice. A mandate of the organization is a commitment to diversity, welcoming people from all backgrounds, abilities and income levels.
Tickets for the event are $10
