DETAILS

A toy factory worker, mentally scarred as a child upon learning Santa Claus is not real, suffers a nervous breakdown after being belittled at work, and embarks on a Yuletide killing spree.

Despite the ominous title and key art featuring Santa with an axe, I am delighted to declare that this is not the gory slasher film you assume it to be. Granted, there is a level of violence beyond receiving a lump of coal for those awful adults without the Christmas spirit, but for the most part, we’re presented with the whimsical and oddly sympathetic descent into madness of a man who loves holiday a little too much. Darkly comedic and brimming with anti-corporate rage, you can take it from John Waters, who has declared CHRISTMAS EVIL to be “the greatest Christmas movie ever made!” – Steven Landry
