NEW 4K RESTORATION! TORONTO THEATRICAL PREMIERE!
ZOMBIES, GUNS, AND SEX, OH MY!!!
Francesco Dellamorte (Rupert Everett) is the groundskeeper at a cemetery where the dead just won’t stay dead—and it’s up to him to deal with those who come back to life with a hunger for human flesh. But Dellamorte’s job soon becomes much more complicated when he falls for an enigmatic young woman (Anna Falchi) whose husband has recently died.
It is hard to believe that this film was unappreciated at the time of its release, considering that it’s one of the very few to enthusiastically and successfully blend horror and comedy so deftly. As a protege of Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci, director Michele Soavi (STAGEFRIGHT, THE CHURCH) has carried over the grotesquery and sexuality of those classic Giallo films but infused them with frenetic camerawork and a sophisticated philosophical point of view. DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE (of Death, of Love) is a surreal, hilarious, gory masterpiece. (STEVEN LANDRY)
