Check your blind spots, millennials, because the greatest teen movie you’ve completely forgotten about is catching back on. Get Over It has everything you want in a teen movie: A-List celebrities at their lowest, an R&B artist in a supporting role, and an unnecessary remix of one of your dad’s favourite songs. A delightful exercise of the Shakespearean play-within-a-play, a high school musical version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream sets the stage for this modern retelling of the story itself. Irresistibly charming and ironically sincere, Get Over It is the second-best thing Sisqo has ever done… It’s a short list. This is one teen comedy you don’t want to miss again.
Berke Landers (Ben Foster) attempts to win back his girlfriend Allison (Melissa Sagemiller) by auditioning for a school play that she and her new boyfriend, Striker (Shane West), are starring in. In doing so, he attracts the attention of his impromptu acting coach, Kelly (Kirsten Dunst). When Striker is caught cheating on Allison, Berke will have to decide between the two girls, and with the help of a few last-minute script changes and a surprise solo ballad, he makes the right decision and rewrites Shakespeare to get the girl.
