“I ain’t no freakin’ monument to justice! I lost my hand! I lost my bride! Johnny has his hand! Johnny has his bride! You want me to take my heartache, put it away, and forget?”

–Ronny Cammareri

Norman Jewison’s masterpiece MOONSTRUCK is simply the greatest of romantic comedies. Few had made better use of Cage’s dreamy, rugged, unusual heartthrob quality than Jewison. Opposite Cher as Ronny Cammareri, the estranged younger brother of the man engaged to Cher’s Loretta Castorini, Cage delivers poignant, almost surreal monologues, yet never forgets the heart of the complicated love story.

Featuring accelerated chemistry between Cher and Cage, MOONSTRUCK is family-friendly, yet revels in the erotic. As a crazed, vengeful baker, Ronny steals the show as he comes around to the forgiveness and his deep attraction to a slightly older woman. The film is universally beloved, with Roger Ebert writing: “Reviews of the movie tend to make it sound like a madcap ethnic comedy, and that it is. But there is something more here, a certain bittersweet yearning that comes across as ineffably romantic, and a certain magical quality” Read: Nicolas Cage delivers on all levels. UnCAGED: Vol. 3 – 80s Edition

Lock up your daughters, infants, fiancés, and secretaries, UnCAGED is back with Volume 3, wherein we celebrate the master of Western Kabuki during the decade he came up: the 1980s. Shedding his ensemble roles and emerging as a bonafide leading man, Nicolas Cage ushered in the eighties with genre re-defining masterworks, including the crown jewels of romcoms (VALLEY GIRL & MOONSTRUCK); a beloved Coen Bros. caper (RAISING ARIZONA); and a depraved, satirical horror (VAMPIRE’S KISS). The ‘80s were a time of defining what “uncaged” would come to mean and offered some of the dreamiest, and yet also monstrous of Cage iterations.

Presented without irony and with a respect for theatrical presentation, celebrate Cage in his 60th year on earth every Wednesday in March. On-site bonus: an in-cinema UnCAGED marketplace for all your Cage collectible needs, including last edition’s sold-out Cage Trading Cards from artist Keenan Tamblyn, Cage shirts and totes, limited edition posters, and more!
