Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine play versions of the late, great mother-daughter duo Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds in this adaptation of Fisher’s autobiographical novel of the same name. Streep is Suzanne Vale, a middle-aged actress coping with various addictions while also struggling to find work. When Suzanne’s forced to move in with her superstar mother, the two lovingly butt heads as they attempt to navigate life as Actresses of a Certain Age.
