25th Anniversary Screening!

At a high-profile boxing match on a stormy night in Atlantic City, less-than-scrupulous detective Rick Santoro (Nic Cage) finds himself trying to solve a murder wrapped in a conspiracy–instead of taking in the fun of fight night!

Sometimes an actor and a director work together in a film, and you wonder why either would make a movie with anyone else. One of those movies is Snake Eyes. It’s a partnership that is explosive. The moment Brian De Palma captures Nicolas Cage on camera, you feel an energy that is special, exciting, and a total fantasy. Like The Wizard of Oz, it begins with a climate event, and suddenly you’re in a 90s Hitchcockian time-warped Atlantic City dream state noir. Instead of Dorothy heading home, cohorts in tow, by way of the yellow brick road, you’re Rick Santoro (Nicolas Cage), a detective putting together the pieces of a murder in a stadium with thousands of witnesses and conspirators actively working against him. It’s a whirlwind thriller, with a heavy-hitter cast and gorgeous technical achievements. (VANYA GARRAWAY)
