DETAILS
Throwback Cinema is celebrating six amazing years at the Revue with a very special screening of THE TRUMAN SHOW!
25th Anniversary Screening! 4K Restoration!
The most famous television show in the world is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary, but there’s just one problem: the main character is beginning to suspect something. Truman Burbank, adopted by a media company at birth and the unwitting star of The Truman Show, can’t let go of this feeling that something isn’t right—because his entire life is a scripted television program populated by actors on a closed set that can be seen from space. As Truman probes the details of his picture-perfect life, and the show’s director tries to keep his creative vision intact, the whole world waits and watches: will Truman realize the deception? And if so, what will happen next?
Released years before “reality television” was a mainstream concept, THE TRUMAN SHOW posed philosophical questions on perception versus reality, the ethics of media consumption, and the nature of fame in a modern-day parable. As visually stunning as it is thought provoking, THE TRUMAN SHOW reveals even more about us twenty five years after it opened in theatres. Join us on Saturday May 13 at 4:00 PM for our celebration of six thoroughly terrific years of Throwback Cinema! –CRYSTAL MADORE
