Thelma & Louise

USA | 1991 | 130 min | R

Two best friends set out on an adventure, but it soon turns around to a terrifying escape from being hunted by the police, as these two girls escape for the crimes they committed.

Seriously though, this 1991 drama may be remembered for its much-parodied ending, but it was chillingly prescient, frankly confronting the ways in which toxic masculinity encourages violence (sexual and otherwise) against women and the silencing of victims. Powered by remarkable performances by Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon and an Oscar-winning script by Callie Khouri, THELMA AND LOUISE is a timeless film that will never run out of gas.
