Details

The second film in our Macho Misfits series, Tin Cup is a return to spotlighting writer/director Ron Shelton’s work. Mr. Shelton is the most screened director in our program—he is also the director of our inaugural film White Men Can’t Jump and our first 35mm screening, Bull Durham, and if he’s been a part of those important firsts, why not continue the tradition by making him the first filmmaker to have an introductory interview? We are honoured to have the veteran creator join us live online from Los Angeles to discuss his illustrious career and his golf picture. A perfect film for Macho Misfits, and the second collaboration between Costner and Shelton. The picture is an example of Shelton’s gift at creating flawed and rakish charmers, and applying romance and sexuality to action in general and sport specifically. It’s going to be the event of the season. See ya soon! (VANYA GARRAWAY)
