If you missed out on the laughs from THE BIG SICK, fret not, as it’s still on screen this week.
Our collaboration with the Goethe Institut begins this weekend as we pay homage to the Revue’s past as a German movie house. On Friday, we screen “THE SINNER,” and on Sunday, “TEENAGE WOLFPACK” — West Germany’s answer to rebellious teenpics like “REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE.”
On Saturday, we honour George A. Romero with a 35mm screening of his beloved “MARTIN.” The following Thursday, we screen a tribute to documentary filmmaker Les Blank, with 16mm prints of “BURDEN OF DREAMS,” which chronicles the nearly insurmountable making of Werner Herzog’s “FITZCARRALDO,” and “WERNER HERZOG EATS HIS SHOE,” where — you guessed it — Herzog literally eats his shoe.
