About the Revue Film Society

The Revue Film Society began in May 2006 as the Save The Revue Committee. Local resident Susan Flanagan founded the group in response to the impending closure of the Revue. Very quickly a group of concerned neighbours and cinephiles came together to find a way to save the Revue from closing.
The Revue did close at the end of June 2006, and the Revue Film Society set about finding a way to get it open again. In December 2006 they found that way in Danny and Letty Mullin.

The Mullins agreed to purchase the building and lease it at a fair rate to the Revue Film Society. It took many months, but the Mullins did finally get the keys in their hands at the beginning of August 2007.
After a long and often trying sixteen-month journey, the Revue Film Society is now the operator of the Revue Cinema. Tremendous support from local residents, businesses and politicians have been instrumental in this achievement. The generosity of our donors, volunteers, and members is always in our minds as we work towards making the Revue a place that is special to everyone.
