25th Anniversary Screening!

Before the franchise resurrects itself with Scary Movie 6 this summer (to horrify Generation Alpha and Gen Z alike), we return to the first sequel that became a defining guilty pleasure for an entire generation of millennials.

Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Scary Movie 2 abandons the slasher formula and inexplicably brings back all the main characters from the dead (from the previous film) for a raunchy haunted house horror comedy. Dismissed by critics but endlessly rewatched on DVD, cable, and at sleepovers, the film has endured as a millennial rite of passage.

Although this technically is a horrific sequel to the mainstream, fans of the franchise will definitely consider it a (not-so) terrible successor to re-watch on the big screen with an equally (not-so) easily offended crowd!  (SERENA WHITNEY – Programming Director)
