The films are hot, but the Revue’s AC will be cranked for the films in this summer’s Heat Wave lineup.

Heat Wave at the Revue Cinema, a lineup of the greatest summer movies ever made, continues  with the disturbing backwoods thriller DELIVERANCE with an introduction by Trailer Trash curator, NATHAN BOONE!

Come for the banjo battle – stay for the backwoods horror.

Four city boys (VOIGHT/REYNOLDS/BEATTY/COX) take a dream trip down the Cahulawassee river – only to have it turn into a rural nightmare.

Directed by John Boorman (Excalibur/Point Blank) in 1972 – this infamous southern gothic survival thriller filled with blood, sweat, and tears exists as both a “hixpolitation flick” and multiple academy award nominee. Whatever you want to call it, it doesn’t hold back from delivering the message that the destruction of the natural world has consequences for everyone.

“Sometimes you got to lose yourself…’fore you can find anything.”

Content Warning: Deliverance contains scenes of sexual violence, physical assault, cruelty, trauma, and intense threatening situations.

Part of the Heat Wave series!
