Psych-Out Cinema: BLUE SUNSHINE (1977) – New 4K Restoration!

BLUE SUNSHINE is a 1977 cult horror classic. Written and directed by one of the masters of the genre Jeff Liberman. The film stars Zalman King, Deborah Winters and Mark Goddard.

The plot focuses on a group of people who in the 1960’s have taken a form of LSD called Blue Sunshine. Ten years later they start losing all their hair and turn in psychotic murderers.

 

The movie is both campy and terrifying with undertones of dark humour, but also filled with truly frightening scary scenes that will have you pulling at your own hair. The tension, fear and edge of your seat uneasiness is further enhanced by an excellent soundtrack composed by Charles Gross.

 

The film (which was made for only $500,000 dollars)  continues to have a growing cult following to this day.
