“Kung Fu Rascals is part old school chop socky movie, Kaiju flick and Power Rangers episode rolled into one.” -Visual Vengeance

A master thief and his two sidekicks steal a map and embark upon a quest to find the only power in the land strong enough to save their home and rid the world from an evil ancient lord known only as The Bamboo Man. In order to restore peace to their village, they’ll also have to face a legion of weird monsters, mutants, and of course ninjas.

Originally conceived as a short film in the 80s directed by famed Hollywood special effects artist Steve Wang (THE MONSTER SQUAD PREDATOR, THE GUYVER, DRIVE), Kung Fu Rascals was expanded into a feature full length film shot on Super 8 by a crew mostly Wang’s friends on weekends. A true DIY love letter to kung fu comedy and fantasy films, Steve Wang’s Super 8 epic showcases both his incredible monster make-up skills and kinetic action movie sensibilities. (BRANDON LIM)
