On May 15th, The Black Nerds Film Club presents ‘Lost Soulz’ at The Revue Cinema.

Follow the story of Sol (portrayed by Sauve Sidle), an aspiring rapper whose life takes a turn when he’s discovered by a group of musicians at a party. Together, they set out on a tour through the heart of Texas, their bond deepens, fueled by shared pains and aspirations left behind. As Sol
grapples with the ghosts of his past and the uncertainties of his future, Sidle’s performance resonates with audiences on a profound level.

“Lost Soulz” brilliantly captures the complex journey of an artist on the margins as they navigate a newfound opportunity while grappling with the realities of what they’ve left behind. Sol, the protagonist, represents countless individuals who dare to chase their dreams despite facing
systemic barriers and personal struggles.

Sol’s decision to join the touring hip-hop musicians is both impulsive and courageous. It represents the allure of opportunity, the promise of creative expression, and the desire for a better life. However, as Sol embarks on this journey, he is forced to confront the ghosts of his past—the
guilt of abandoning his ailing friend, the uncertainty of leaving behind familiar surroundings, and the fear of losing his sense of self.

‘Lost Soulz’ portrays Sol’s inner conflict with nuance and sensitivity, highlighting the internal struggles that accompany external opportunities. Despite the excitement of the road and the camaraderie of his newfound companions, Sol grapples with feelings of rootlessness and displacement. He is torn between embracing the freedom of his new life and reconciling with the responsibilities and relationships he has left behind.

Led by the magnetic performance of Sauve Sidle, ‘Lost Soulz’ captures the essence of artistic passion and the quest for identity. Sol’s journey is not just about chasing dreams but confronting the demons of his past, testing the very fabric of his being.

With vibrant hues and raw emotion, ‘Lost Soulz’ dives deep into the underground hip-hop scene, offering a fresh perspective on the genre. Anchored by a genre-bending soundtrack and mesmerizing improvisational performances, the film takes you on an odyssey of music, friendship, and self-discovery.
