A high-voltage portrait of immigrant punk band Gogol Bordello as told through the life and music of frontman Eugene Hütz. Born in Ukraine to a family with Romani roots, Hütz fled his homeland as a refugee in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster, eventually landing in New York City—a place where cultures collide and identities are reinvented.

Drawing on never-before-seen archives spanning over two decades—including intimate interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and explosive live performances—Scream of My Blood captures not just the evolution of a band, but the forging of a global movement. At its core, Scream of My Blood is a story shared by millions: the struggle to belong, the tension between assimilation and authenticity, and the defiant joy of celebrating your roots while creating something entirely new.

As anti-immigrant sentiment rises globally, Gogol Bordello’s message feels more urgent than ever. And when war calls Hütz back to Ukraine, the journey comes full circle—linking past and present, homeland and adopted country. Ultimately, Scream of My Blood is a love letter to immigrants everywhere, and a celebration of the vital role they play in shaping culture, community, and the indestructible spirit of punk rock resistance.

The film received a Special Jury Mention at the Tribeca Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the Warsaw International Film Festival, with a festival run that also included Karlovy Vary, Göteborg, Philadelphia and Bergen. (Monoduo Films)
